Who We Are... Today
Yesterday: Purple Coat Tea was an online store selling unique and stylish canvas photography wall art doning artistic images designed and photographed by Karen Ball.
Today: Purple Coat Tea sets up for the tea business once again! I'm excited to announce that Purple Coat Tea is selling looseleaf teas in store and will be selling online shortly. With rare opportunity and knowledge acquired over the years, Purple Coat Tea has been given a third chance to bring wonderful teas to the lives of serious tea drinkers and tea lovers alike! And we couldn't be more happy about it! Cheers!
Tomorrow: Who knows... but we won't stop learning and trying new things to bring the people new products!
Purple Coat Tea is a business venture designed to evolve with the times and with ideas of the founder and designer Karen Ball.
Stubborn History
Purple Coat Tea started in 2016, by Karen Ball, selling looseleaf tea online and locally in North Carolina.
In 2019, the online store reopened for a short time in Colorado selling looseleaf tea before the Lockdown of 2020.
Though we were not able to pick up where we left off before the Lockdown, we weren't done yet!
In the Summer of 2021, the store reopened in Alabama. Combining a few hobbies Karen picked up during 2020, a new approach to the store began. A mixture of photography and online sources lead to creating beautiful canvas wall art that was for delivery directly to the customer's door.
But with the end of 2024, we are back in the tea business once again!! Our teas are currently available in store at the Sweet Nation Boba Tea Shop, located in Gadsden Alabama. They will be available online very soon! The year 2025 is going to be an exciting and wonderful new chapter in a long and tedious origin story!
As the world changes around us, so will Purple Coat Tea change to meet those sways!
Founder and Founderer
Karen Ball, founder of Purple Coat Tea, has been working through hell and highwater to get this company off the ground to achieve a store front and strong online presence.
Karen tentatively started her business in 2016, and hasn't let go of that dream since! Today, Karen Ball has her Masters Degree in Business Administration to further build her company.
Each year brings Karen inspiration and new resources to shape and guide Purple Coat Tea that much closer to the business it was meant to be and the business that will benefit customers the most!
Oysters carry Pearls
The greatest influence of this company comes from... Yup! You guessed it! Alice in Wonderland. The goal was never to imitate other companies or sell whatever was cheap or easy to get. The goal has always been to give something I thought was special to my customers. If I'm the oyster, then my beautiful photos and fancy quality teas are my pearls! Our customers deserve the very best, and that is what we will provide!
